09.15.08 Paralympics: third medal for Fabio Triboli
Triboli makes it three!! After winning Italy’s first medal in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics just a few days ago, Fabio Triboli, athlete for Team Fiamme Azzurre (Team Blue Flame – Italy’s National Team), born in Lecco, won Gold in the saddle of a Pinarello. In the 76km road race, Triboli was victorious over French rider, Mercier and Australian, Gallagher.
Tiboli’s Gold medal is his third after two Bronzes; one in the LC1 Category on the Track for the 4km pursuit and the other in the 24.8km Road Time Trial.
At 42 years of age, Triboli races for Team Fiamme Azzurre and is not new to the emotions of the Olympics. In fact in Athens 2004, he won both Silver and Bronze medals. His palmares includes 14 National Gold medals between 2002 and 2007 in both Time Trial and Road Racing. Meanwhile, taking Gold at the European Championships in 2007.
