The Comune of Villorba have announced the “Sesto in Sylvis” prize to Giovanni Pinarello and his brother Carlo. An annual prize, which recognizes residents that have made distinguished contributions to culture, sport, the economy and voluntary service.
The prize went to Giovanni Pinarello, 84 years old, for its entrepreneurial activity, starting the Pinarello company which has made Villorba be known worldwide. Making his passion of cycling his job, he has consistently transformed the small hand-crafted workshop into an industry that now competes with the best manufacturers in the world. In addition, during the phases of de-localization, PInarello has chosen to remain purely Italian and have invested locally (with the new factory/plant opening soon)
“I am very proud of this prestigious acknowledgment – says Giovanni Pinarello – it’s a prize that gratifies the great love for my job, love and dedication which I have tried to pass onto my children Carla, Fausto and Andrea, whom manage our company. I wish to thank from my heart, Mayor Liviana Scattolon and the Comune administration”
The official prize presentation will take place on Saturday 20th January at 11:00am at the Mario del Monaco auditorium in Catena di Villorba
