Treviso, Italy's Fassa Bortolo will officially end the sponsorship of their cycling team at the end of 2005, which is sponsored by Cicli Pinarello of Treviso. Team manager Giancarlo Ferretti explained “It's with immense sadness that I must communicate the end of the Fassa Bortolo pro cyclingteam at the end of 2005. A team we started in 2000 that was planned to leave the sport after six years. We've had some major wins, the team has always been one of the top teams worldwide and we've seen the emergence of a great champion like Alessandro Petacchi. But it's also a team that has showed it's class and distinction by the behavioor of all the riders and staff. A real quality group of authentic professional riders." Feretti's goal for the team is now to win as many races as possible before the end of the season.
