On a hot, steamy day in the Treviso, Italy area, ex-pro Stefano Girald of Team Park Pre-Guru-Selle Italia was the first rider home in the 9th edition of Granfondo Pinarello, the first among over four thousand cicloamatori from all over Italy and the World. "This is the best edition yet of our Granfondo Pinarello", proudly explained Andrea Pinarello after the event. "We had a record participation and everything went perfectly."
On hand were real pros from Team Fassa Bortolo, Matteo Tosatto, Fabio Baldato and Marzio Bruseghin as well as Michele Bartoli and Silvio Martinello and ski champ Karen Putzer.
Stefano Giraldi crossed the finish line of the 160 km course in 4h22'29", 2' ahead of runners-up Mirko Puglioli and Alfonso Falzarano. The womans edition of the
Granfondo Pinarello was a photo finish, as Monica Bandini beat Monia Gallucciin 4h59'21", while third place woman was Anna Corona con 5h01'44".
Paolo Toni and Italian womans TT champ Tatiana Guderzo were first in the Mediofondo Pinarello over 133km.
