Davide Malacarne took the World Junior Cyclocross Championship today on Pinarello. Winner of the overall Jr. World Cup this past season, dominated the junior race, setting the pace for the entire race on his Pinarello Cross bike.



18 year old Malacarne, from the Lamon (BL) Italy beat Julien Taramarcz (SUI) and Christoph Pfingsten (GER) for the win.



In a post-race press conference, Malacarne explained that

"I knew with slippery conditions I didn't want to be out of the lead...I don't usually race in these icy conditions, so I didn't want to take any chances. I tried to drop the other guys with me, but they stayed there, so I just stayed in front."
