Great success for the Team Sky during the second stage of the Tour Down Under, the first official race of the Pro Tour’s season.
English Ben Swift won the final sprint beating Robbie McEwen and Graeme Brown in 3h 27’ 44’’. The second stage was a 146 km race from Tailem Bens to Mannun.
The 23-years-old sprinter took his great chance: he was planning on leading out his team-mate Chris Sutton for the group sprint, but when Sutton was involved in a crash four kilometres from the end, Swift was left to take the lead himself.
